A story which expresses adventure, fear and relief

- “Your eyes are the ocean and your tears are like water drops full of sadness”. The words were dancing like a lit flame around the tree. Lily could smell the musky scent of the boughs. Those incredibly sad and melancholic boughs that grew from a trunk. The sky was empty. It was of a superb size. An infinite turquoise that could swallow the earth in seconds. “…and then the stars will fill the sky with lights and waters will recede. After the times of sadness you’ll feel better”. Those were words of her father. Words of sympathy which had been carried through time by the movement of the waters up until that moment. She left the village that hot morning of July. The night before she swept the room with her eyes and took all she needed for the trip to the other island. Determined she went on to claim the prize her father had never got when still alive. The possession of the Mortimer Village and the love of its people. She knew that that trip could make the difference. She would make people realize that she was just trying to turn that place into the place it was in the old times. She was a fearless lady dancing in the moonlight, but people were becoming tired and seemed to not understand her goodness. Just as she thought her faith had gone, there she was moving on in the most challenging adventure of all. The rebirth of the town. The boats had to be fixed. The old naked houses in front of the beach, side by side, had to be painted and to be filled with love. For years she had been watching those people while she grew up. The zesty smell of the wooden boats and the fresh blue paint that was turning those empty uninhabited houses into homes. She was definitely alone, she thought. Throughout the day and night she gathered all the materials she needed and put them in the boat to go home. But there was a sign of a storm coming in in the distance. The same clear sky she had seen that morning was turning black and the clouds were moving quickly from the south as she pulled away from the coast. A while after she was losing control of the boat and when her body fell down to the ground her head hit the floor and she lost consciousness. A stream of stars joined together in the sky and the waters started to calm down. All its madness disappeared as she started hearing voices near and suddenly a hand took hers. She wasn’t alone after all. The people had reconciled with each other and had moved forward as she. She was home.
