Break of dawn

In middle of the night I and our cat Lissie had to move to my sister’s bed, because Luise was scared of the thunderstorm. The rumbles of thunder were terrible. Not even together we were able to sleep well. The alarm clock rang, 6:15 a.m., I turned it off. I had to wake up early, because I needed to finish my Spanish homework. So I tripped out of Luise´s children´s room and creped with cold feet into my room. The break of dawn let me imagine the lustrous frost on the next door roof. All the trees had lost their leaves. I took a warming blanket, turned my computer on and grabbed my “Diccionario”. I couldn´t concentrate on my homework, because the eerie noise of the whistling wind was making me nervous. I didn´t feel well in my own home. My beautiful “Sophie Room” was changing into the opposite. The moonlight threw a silver light into it and more and more scary shadows were appearing. I was alone with these shadows. My little sister was sleeping and my Mum was working. Frightened I finished my homework as quick as I could, pushed the “Print” button and hastened to my sisters room to wake her up. We set the breakfast table and began to eat toast with Nutella cream. I started to tell her all my morning experiences. While I explained which horrifying creatures I had seen in the shadows, we heard such a strange wailing voice. First we tried to ignore it, but the noise was getting louder and louder. Suddenly we understood the meaning of this croaking sound…someone was howling in a terrifying voice: “Muuuuuummy…muuuummy!!!” Luise and me looked at each other, hoping it was just our neighbour’s child. But it couldn´t be a human voice. “Muuuuuuuuuuuuummy!” Luise started to whimper. “Muuuummy!” and even Lissie was searching for a safe place under the table. I decided to find the origin. The voice was coming out of MY room, I went in! I felt my heart beat. Then I saw it! On my desktop a website had opened and an animated skeleton was crying and whispering for its “Muuuuuummy!”
